My native town is Nizhnekamsk. I want to tell you a few words about it. Nizhnekamsk is located to the south of the Kama River between the cities of Naberezhnye Chelny and Chistopol. My town is very young and green. It was founded in 1961. Nizhnekamsk is not large but very multinational. It’s population is about 234,180. 46,5% of them are Tatars, 46,1% are Russians, 3,0% are Chuvashs, 1,0% are Ukrainians and 1,0% are Bashkirs.
Nizhnekamsk is one of the most beautiful and cleanest towns in Russia. It is considered to be the most comfortable town. It is famous all over the world because it is one of the top centres of oil treatment industry. Also there are many famous persons connected with Nizhnekamsk such as N. V. Lemaev, E. N. Korolev, E. G. Volkova and many others.
There are many interesting places to visit in Nizhnekamsk, for example different museums, theatres, cinemas, green parks and amusement centers. The most wonderful sight is Red spring or Holy spring. It is situated not far from town to the south of the Kama River. The Muslim legend about the Holy spring had arisen in the 17th century. It is said that Imam Dauhit came there to ask the Lord for a place to build a town. Also it is believed that there was a stone with Arabian inscription.
I love Nizhnekamsk and I am proud of it and I hope my town will develop and improve with years.
