The first official details of the settlement, which was located in what is now Bogorodsky, meet in the middle of the XVI century. In the census books for 1550 it was called Alymova - estate of Prince Lykov-Obolensky - today on the village street reminiscent Alymova and Alymov lane. However, in the course of excavations carried out in the district on the banks of the river Yauza, was found in the cultural layer of red pottery, which gives grounds to assert that the settlement existed here for a half or two centuries before the first mention in the census books. Briefly owned Alymova Ivan the Terrible, in 1568 signed a letter about granting these lands Chudov monastery. By 1680 at the church cemetery was built in honor of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary wooden chapel (not preserved), since for the village well established name of the Virgin or Bogorodsky. In the years 1876-1880 in the village was built a wooden church of the Transfiguration, which is preserved to this day. In 1879, the city and district council have agreed on the inclusion of Bogorodsky within the city. In 1886, from Sokolniki to Bogorodskoe paved the line of horse railway (fare was 7 cents), in 1912 the line was reconstructed in the tram. In the early XX century the area of the village Bogorodsky, turned into a working village at the factory "Hercules" (later renamed the "Red Hero"), which produced rubber products. The main street was a large Bogorodskaya, built on the site ofa rural road. At the corner of the street and Millionaya in 1880 was built a small wooden Transfiguration Church -attraction of the area "Bogorodskoe", which is protected by the state.
The district is located in an unique green area a national park, "Elk Island" – and its ponds – Kazenka and Swiss- popular vacation spot.
In the area of "Bogorodskoe" Spartak stadium is named. I. Net, play here and train students in junior sports school. This stadium is named after the famous halfback 50-60s, Igor Netto. In 1960 he became European champion with the Soviet national team. All of his club career took place at the stadium Spartak in Moscow. He considered a legendary player, "the people's team."
Great Soviet goalie Lev Yashin was born and raised in Bogorodskoe. As a child he lived with his parents apartment on the Millionaya street, not far from the factory "Red Hero". At his house where he lived is a memorial.
