My native village is situated in the Middle Urals. It is called Neyvo-Rudyanka. Nowadays about 3 thousand people live here. Its name comes from the river Neyva, on which it stands. “Ruda” in Russian means “iron ore”. This mineral resource was found in many places of the Urals.
The Urals is an old region. The Russians appeared here in the 12th century. 1780 is the date of the foundation of our settlement. Its development is connected with iron smelters plants. Besides, gold and precious stones were found near Neyvo-Rudyanka. They were called samotzveti, or ornamental stones. You can learn a lot about the history of Neyvo-Rudyanka in our school museum. It’s interesting to know that the first school in the settlement was opened in 1880. Now the pupils go to the secondary school. Its three-storied building is new and modern!
Our settlement is beautiful in all seasons. In summer it’s often warm. You can swim in the river Neyva or in the lake Shigirskoye. Besides, you can pick up mushrooms and berries or just walk in the forests and enjoy the singing of birds. In winter the streets look fantastic because of trees covered with frost. You can have fun skating, skiing, playing snowballs and sleighing down the hill Kazyonka. The ancient Ural Mountains are seen from any place of the village. Autumn is a tasty season in our place. We gather a rich harvest of vegetables, fruits and berries in our gardens! In autumn we also celebrate the holiday “Settlement Day”. It happens on the third Saturday in September. It brings a lot of joy both to children and grown-ups.
Welcome to our native place!
