My name is Nastya. I am sixteen years old.
First of all let me introduce myself. My name is Nastya. I am sixteen years old. I am in the tenth grade. I was born in Taganrog. Taganrog is more than 300 years old. I like nights of Taganrog. Nights are warm and starry, so you can sleep in the open and listen to the sound of the sea. Pushkinskaya Embankment is the best place to watch the sunrise. This Embankment was repeatedly rebuilt; its cheerless warehouses and shops gave place to a sea front with bench, beautiful lanterns and cafes. Embankment has been one of the most popular place for promenades and jogging among the citizens of Taganrog and visitors of the town, and also serves as the central arena for open-air concerts and Day of the town celebrations. You can use the famous Stone Staircase to get from the Embankment to the town core. The 189 stairs are divided by 13 ladings. It was on the Stone Stairs that on May 22, 1855, during the Crimean War, the Taganrog garrison repulsed the landed troops of the English – French squadron. For the heroism of its residents Tsar Alexander II awarded a special diploma to Taganrog, a unique town of Russia. On September 10, 2006, grand opening of the renovated stairs took place; the stairs and the landings were replaced by granite ones. This is my favorite place in our wonderful town. This emotionless description can hardly convey all the charm and fascination of the warm sea, beautiful beaches, caressing sun, air saturated with steppe fragrances.
“As you ride you watch a blue sea on the left and an endless gloomy steppe on the right; your breath is easy and your eyes feel the expanse…”
