We live in a very beautiful city on the Volga – Cheboksary. Our city will be 543 years old this year, but according to the latest archeological surveys it is considered to be much older. Our city is not very big, but there are a lot of places of interest which attract the attention of the citizens and visitors. In our opinion the most interesting place in Cheboksary is the Museum ob Beer. We have not heard about such museums in Russia and that’s why we think that our museum is unique. In Chuvashia beer is popular from ancient times. Every family had its own way of beer brewing, and it was passed from generation to generation. Even nowadays in Chuvash villages women treat their relatives, friends and visitors with their beer. In our museum you can follow the development of this industry from ancient times till now. You can also find out that beer brewing was popular in ancient Egypt and in some other ancient countries. The next hall contains a big collection of beer bottles and labels. They are not only from Russia, but also from Germany, Czech Republic. The last hall is devoted to the beer traditions of Chuvashia. There you can see the appliances used by people for brewing and even taste our beer which is made in Komsomolskaya region of Chuvashia. After visiting the museum people usually go to the bar where they enjoy our beer.
