The Khabarovsk Territory, interesting facts

The Khabarovsk Territory is the constituent entity of the Russian Federation. It is one of the largest administrative-territorial entities of the Russian Federation, located in the central part of the Far East. Its total area is about 787,000 square kilometers. It shares borders with the regions of the Far East Federal District, that is the Primorye Territory, the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Amur Region, the Magadan Region, the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), and the People Republic of China as foreign neighbour. The Khabarovsk Territory is washed by the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan.
The Territory is rich in forests and timber, precious species of fish and fur animals, minerals, and other natural resources, ferrous, nonferrous and precious metals, water resources. The inhabitants of the Territory are engaged in engineering, forestry, metallurgy, oil refining, food processing, transport and communications industries. The Red Book includes 167 species of plants and fungi, among them are ginseng, Siberian ginseng, schizandra, and 127 species of animals − lynx, black bear and Siberian tiger. In the Khabarovsk Territory there are about 210,000 rivers. Most of them belong to the Amur River system - one of the largest rivers in Russia (the total length of 4440 km.).
The flag and the coat of arms of the Khabarovsk Territory is a symbol of state-legal status of the region. The flag of the Khabarovsk Territory is a rectangular panel divided into three parts: the blue color - a symbol of the vast water resources of the region; the green one symbolizes the unique flora and fauna of the region; the white color reflects a cloudless sky, intellectual honesty of the residents. The coat of arms of the Khabarovsk Territory depicts black bear sitting on his hind feet with the emblem in the paws. The bear is depicted with an open mouth and dark-red eyes symbolizing strength and integrity of the Far Eastern borders of Russia.
The Khabarovsk Territory is an amazing and unique region.
