The Monument to the Keyboard in Ekaterinburg
Ученица МАОУ гимназия № 70
Yekaterinburg is my native city. I was born in it. Yekaterinburg is a big and beautiful city. There are many museums, theatres and cinemas in it. It’s got a lot of monuments too. For example, the monument to Tatyschev and DeGenin, the first founders of Yekaterinburg or the monument to Vladimir Vysotskiy, a famous singer and actor.
I’d like to tell you about the monument which is devoted to the Key board. It was created on October the 5th, in 2005 by Anatoliy Vyatkin. It is situated on the bank of the river Iset. The monument consists of 86 keys. The keys are made of concrete. Every key weights 80 kilogram. The monument to the Keyboard symbolizes the union of Europe and Asia. As we know Yekaterinburg is situated on the boarder between Europe and Asia. The monument has a great success among the citizens and tourists. Now they have a rest on the keys with comfort and pleasure. I like this particular monument very much because it is interesting, unusual and modern. I visit it with my relatives very often. I have taken some photos of this monument. Here they are.
