We are pupils of the 7th class of Tukhtet secondary
Our small settlement Tyukhtet is located in a picturesque place of the Siberian taiga. It stands on the high hill, surrounded by pine forest and washed by the small river. Immigrants from Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia and Lithuania which arrived to these regions for free lands were ancestors of present inhabitants of Tyukhtet.
Before revolution the territory of the area was a part of the Tomsk province. Local people were engaged in agriculture, hunting, fishing, cattle breeding and production of pine nuts. In days of war our settlement sent to the front more than 9 000 people. The teacher of local school Vasily Davidov received a rank of the Hero of the Soviet Union. In Tyukhtet there are many monuments reminding of war heroes.
The museum of local lore works in Tyukhtet school No. 1 where we study. The head of the museum is Taurinskas Valentina Vasilyevna, the teacher of geography, for many years together with children she collects materials and exhibits for a museum. We are proud of our school and our museum. We love Tyukhtet - our small homeland!
