I live in Rublevo. It is situated in the west of Moscow, on the right bank of the Moscow River. “Rublevo” means a place in the forest, carved for arable lands. The village was first mention in 1620 when Boris Mikhailovich Lykov bought this village. After his death the village became the property of the government. When Peter the first was in power, Rublevo became the property of Naryshkin. In the 18th century it became the property of Razumovsky. The construction of waterworks became in the 20th century. N.P. Zimin, a well-known engineer was the head builder and author of this project. The grand opening was held on June 27th 1903. At the time of the establishment, it was the biggest waterworks in the country. A small settlement was formed around the waterworks. A highway was carried to the village and in 1918 a railway line was built from Kuntsevo. A few constructions were built by the water station. Improvement of equipment and increasing power of stations were continued. Rublevo grew together with the station. By the time of 1926, 1,200 people lived here. In August 1928, Rublevo was assigned to the category of workers settlement. From 1960 to 1970 the housing constructions began because there was a severe shortage of houses. Loads of modern houses were built. The village is located by a modern ring road, which has been serving Moscow for a very long time, but it wasn’t included in the metropolitan area. After a while in 1919 it was administered by the City Council. Eventually in 1991, after the formation of the Western Administrative District, Rublevo finally became a part of the Western territory.
