Горбунов Максим, ученик 4-а класса
My name is Maxim, I am 9 years old. I live in Moscow, and I want to tell you about the Pushkin Monument, which is in Moscow. I have a lot of information about this monument.
The monument to Alexander Pushkin , the work of Aleksandr Mikhailovich Opekushin, was established in Moscow on the 6th of June in 1880 . The monument is made of bronze. Originally it was installed at the beginning of the Boulevard area on Strastnoy boulevard. Now it’s Pushkin boulevard. In 1950 the monument was moved to the opposite side of the square. The poet's pose is casual, his thoughtful eyes are looking into the distance. Pushkin is represented in a cloak with his right hand in the vest and the other one holding a hat behind his back. In the corners of the monument are four cast iron lanterns with four lights in each, and on the perimeter you can see 20 small thumbs entwined with bronze wreaths and joined into the bronze chain. Muscovites and tourists often come to this monument. Many people put flowers to the famous poet’s monument.
