At the end of the 19th century D. N. Mamin – Sibiryak was among the visitors of the town. He lived in a small house which is the City children’s library now. The description of the Nizhnyaya Salda works can be found in the novels of D. N. Mamin – Sibiryak. Near the blocks of flats you can see also old houses. There are three public schools, a gymnasium and a college, a culture club and a sport centre in our town. In the centre of the town there is Lenin Square.
The city suburbs are famous for their beautiful landscapes ideal for recreation. The Cedar grove, woods and rivers provide fine hunting and fishing and getting mushrooms and picking berries. In winter we have excellent opportunities for snow skiing and skating. We live in a picturesque place of the Urals.
We are proud of our small but beautiful town.
