Moscow. Terletsky Park.
Борькин Василий Васильевич
My name is Vasily Bor’kin. I am a pupil of the 5th form , school 1373. I live in the eastern part of Moscow, district “Ivanovskoye”. I would like to write about the place where I live. It has a long history. In the 16th century Tsar Ivan the Terrible gave the village Ivanovskoye to a diplomat Nikita Zakhar’in-Yur’ev. We know about it from chronicles.
The most beautiful place in our district is Terletsky park. The part got its name from General Alexandre Torletzky who bought it and looked after it from the beginning of the 20th century. There are more than 300 years old oak trees there. Also we can admire the cascade of five nice ponds. The cascade is a monument of nature.
There are a lot of lovely places to have a rest. In winter my family can go skiing in the park and sledge down the hills. In summer I and my friends run on the park roads, sunbathe on the bank of the ponds, play volleyball, badminton, tennis, football and other games. There are many children play grounds. When I was small, I went there with my mother to play.
In the park some interesting events are often held. Some time ago there was a contest “Guards of Russia” in honour of 200 years old anniversary of the Borodinskaya battle. I took part in the contest.
I like the area where I live. I am always glad to return here. My parents often say “East or west, home is best”.
