I want to tell you about a wonderful place. It is Novorossiysk. This city is in Krasnodar region, Russia. It is the country's main port at the Black Sea. Population: 241,788. Even before our era on the banks of Tsemess Bay, where now stands Novorossiysk, the Greeks founded the settlement of Bata. A century laterthe Turks founded a fortress Sudzhuk Calais in this place. Only in 1839 the fortification was renamed Novorossiysk, but after seven years it was officially awarded the status of the city. There are many monuments, statues, museums and theaters there, for example, the monument to Admiral Mikhail Lazarev. He was a Russian naval commander, navigator and Admiral. There is a cruiser, which is called Mikhail Kutuzov. Earlier it sailed around the world, but now it is a museum ship. Every day there are guided tours there. I hope you enjoyed my story about the city and you would like to visit the city.
Every year from November to March squally wind is blowing in Novorossiysk (up to 60 m/sec), which is called the northeaster or boron. Cold air is being transshipped through the mountains, from the looks of giant clouds of cotton or a beard. The City Day is celebrated on the second Saturday of September.
