When we have time for leisure, we usually need something that can interest and amuse us. There are a lot of places in Moscow where we can spend our free time. As for me I prefer to go out with my mother. My favourite place in Moscow is not far from my house, but it is one of the most exciting ones - The Kuskovo Estate, an entertainment country residence of Count Sheremetev - a wonderful example of Russian artistic cultures of the 18th century. It attracts visitors with picturesque landscapes, unique architecture.
Walking around the estate nowadays, visitors may found themselves in the seaside burger Holland, get into the neighborhood of an Italian villa, or retire to the Hermitage or to a fairytale underwater Grotto cave.
I would like to point your attention at a special place of the Kuskovo architectural ensemble - the Palace. The Palace is my favourite place in the Kuskovo Estate. It is the centre of the Residence architectural ensemble, which used to be a country house of the Sheremetevs’ family. Built in wood, it was plastered and painted pale pink. The Palace was decorated in line with the tasted of Russian aristocracy’s lifestyle and European art of the 18th century. Everything here was supposed to impress, and the program of receptions included entertainment’s ranging from theatrical shows to banquets to recitals to games. Each of its halls has its own original names and style. United into a coherent ensemble, they make a unique example of the 18th century Russian estate interior design.
Every time I visit this place I take a lot of photos and here are some of them, my favorite ones!
