I live in the suburbs near the village of Petrovskoe, where the ruined mansion of the XVIII century is situated. It consists of a magnificent main house with four wings around it and a church with a bell tower. They were built by the project the architects Vasily Bazhenov and Matvei Kazakov. It was built for the collection of Mr. Meshchersky, his large library and an art gallery in 1850.
The estate consists of three parts: a residential complex, a commercial and a church. The residential complex is a square courtyard in the center of which is the main manor house with four almost equal wings at the corners, built simultaneously with the main house. From the west, south and east of the house the park surrounded it. Alley went in different directions, intersect, forming a platform-star, wriggling along the coast. From the house there was a direct avenue to the river with the set on either side of her cast-iron statues. At the bottom of the river was poured a hill, which ended with the statue of Apollo. The abundance of sculptures estate could compete with the famous estate near Moscow and Arkhangelsk Kuskovo. Today, a luxury in the past, the estate is going through times of complete oblivion. The estate is in ruins and is slowly recovering. But despite this there were shooting war films such as "The Star" and "Penal Battalion."
