Chelyabinsk, Eternal Flame
Потапов Павел, учащийся 7 физико-
My name is Potapov Pavel. I live in a beautiful and patriotic city. Every parade in honour of The Great Patriotic War ends at Eternal Flame. The eternal fire is a long-held tradition in many cultures and religions. In Chelyabinsk you can find Eternal Flame in Tsvillinga street. It was lit on the 9th of May, 1965 after the people of Chelyabinsk, who did not return from World War 2. The frame of fire is made in the form of an iron star and a bronze wreath from laurels and oak leaves. There is a granite slab near the monument, on which 250 names of soldiers from South Ural are written. There are always fresh flowers in memory of our Heroes there.
Every year on May 9 the City Administration exposes the Guard of Honour near this monument. Ordinary people, veterans, participants of war operations, military and their families come to Victory celebration to Eternal flame. Representatives of the authorities make the congratulatory speech dated for a holiday. There is usually a parade, various concert programs in the city and in the evening there are fireworks.
