Азанова Александра Игоревна, 6 класс
I live in Gubkinsky. It is a small town in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomuos District. It is situated on the left bank of the river Pyakupur, in 200 kilometers from an Arctic Circle. My town is the youngest town in Russia, it is only 25 years old. Gubkinsky was founded on the 22 of April in 1986 as an oil-extracting settlement. Town status was granted to it in 1997. It was named after the Soviet geologist Ivan Gubkin. The population of town is more than twenty-seven thousand; there are more than twenty-three nationalities: the Russians, the Ukrainian, the Belarusian, the Tatar, the Bashkir, the Armenian, the Bulgarian, the Azerbaijani and other. People are very kind and friendly. Every winter an Ice City was built in Gubkinsky. There are a lot of ice castles, palaces, characters of fairy-tales. A lot of people like to go and play there. I love my town very much!
